In Brazil, public transportation is not a fun journey for daily users that depend on it. The ticket buying experience is at the center of this. Each city has a partner who's responsible for selling tickets. The client, being a partner for multiple cities, wanted a simple, cross-city way to sell tickets to citizens of all ages.
City partners have no incentive to design a simple ticket buying journey. The client wanted to fix this by proactively designing a better experience.
Field research revealed that citizens don't trust most existing solutions due to a faulty experience. So they fall back to paper-based solutions and live cashiers.
A quick MVP-focused design process led us to an easy-to-use, distraction-free wallet app for citizens to manage their public transportation tickets.
